About

Saqib Mughal

Saqib's art is a fusion of Surrealism and Renaissance.

He displays a profound fascination with the Renaissance period, drawn to its meticulous attention to detail, mastery of light and shadow, and the exquisite beauty of its compositions. The true magic of Saqib's oil paintings lies in his ability to bridge two seemingly contrasting artistic styles – Surrealism and the Renaissance. His works create a dialogue between dreamlike imagination and classical rigor, inviting viewers to explore layers of meaning beyond the visible.

Saqib’s compositions are rich with symbolism, often incorporating motifs that encourage reflection on the subconscious and the complexities of human experience. Through his art, he challenges the perception of reality, blending visual storytelling with philosophical inquiry. Each painting is crafted to evoke contemplation, offering viewers an opportunity to engage with the deeper questions of existence and emotion.

Born in 1971 in Karachi, Pakistan, Saqib began exploring art at an early age. After completing his education at the Karachi School of Art, he moved to the United States in the late 1990s, where he resides and works. This cross-cultural journey has deeply influenced his perspective, allowing him to merge Eastern sensibilities with Western artistic traditions, resulting in a unique visual language that resonates universally.

Over the years, Saqib has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in both Pakistan and the United States. His work has been featured in prestigious galleries, reflecting his commitment to both technical mastery and conceptual depth. Beyond painting, Saqib continues to study and experiment with form, light, and narrative, constantly refining his approach and pushing the boundaries of his craft.

Through his art, Saqib seeks to connect with the viewer on multiple levels – aesthetic, emotional, and intellectual – making each encounter with his work a personal and transformative experience.
